Inventory items (or simply "items") are purchasable effects that serve to alter how players can interact with Bang! Howdy. All Inventory items except the Gold pass can be purchased in-game, via either the general store or the train station. There are two general types of items: those that effect game play in matches, and those that enable features outside of matches. Most purchased Inventory items can be viewed in a player's inventory.

Contents

[edit] Match item

Match items are meant to lend an advantage during rounds to those who possess them. Most match items are attainable by all players, regardless of whether or not they have access to gold coins. Some match items can be earned, as well as bought, by performing certain tasks.

[edit] Card

Main article: Card

The most common form of match item is the card. Up to three different cards may be brought into any match, where they can be played to instigate a certain effect. Cards may be purchased by type in packs of three for scrip, in randomly assorted packs of thirteen or fifty-two for scrip and gold, or earned by playing certain tutorials.

[edit] Pass

Passes are items that allow players to use units that are not otherwise available (referred to as "locked" units). Passes may be purchased for scrip and Gold coins, or earned along with certain badges. Once a player has possesion of a pass, the respective unit is "unlocked", and may be brought into in matches and used in practice sessions from the Ranch as the player desires. In some bounty and Tutorial rounds, players may be able to use locked units, regardless of whether or not they have unlocked that unit. Passes are as follows:

[edit] Extra-match item

Items that do not directly affect game play in matches serve to enable features that otherwise relate to Bang! Howdy. Such items are not available to all players, as they can only be bought with gold coins, a Gold Pass, or, in the case of the Gold Pass itself, real world currency.

[edit] Gold exchange license

The Gold Exchange License

The Gold Exchange License is an inventory item that allows a player to access the gold exchange at the bank. The license itself costs 1 image:goldcoin.png (eliminated with a Gold Pass), forcing players without coins from before the pass's implementation to purchase coins with real-world money in order to purchase coins with scrip.

[edit] Gold pass

The Gold Pass is an item that removes the gold costs from most items in the town of its purchase, and may be bought for $9.95. With this pass, big shots, passes, purses, looks, clothing, hats, gear, face paint, familiars, card packs, deputy's stars, tickets to the next town and Gold Exchange Licenses only have their scrip costs. Scenario sound tracks and anything sold in the hideout will still have its gold cost.

[edit] Purse

A purse grants its owner a scrip bonus after every match; this bonus is a percentage of the base scrip the player earns for match completion and placement. Each town has its own associated purse, and the purses must be purchased sequentially. Each purse replaces its predecessors—purses' effects do not stack. Purses are as follows:

Name
Image
Effect
Cost
Frontier Purse image:frontier_purse.png Grants its owner an added 10% scrip at the end of a match 1000 Image:Scrip.png

Indian Purse image:indian_purse.png Grants its owner an added 15% scrip at the end of a match 2500 Image:Scrip.png

[edit] Deputy's star

Deputy's stars unlock Most wanted Bounties for the town in which they are purchased. Every Town has its own set of three Deputy's stars, which must be purchased in sequential order. Deputy's stars are as follows:

[edit] Ticket

A ticket is an item that enables a player to access a town. Each town beyond Frontier Town has its own ticket. Currently, there is only one ticket in the game: the ticket to Indian Trading Post, which can be bought at the Frontier Town train station for 1000 scrip and 20 gold coins. They are among the items that gangs can rent for use by their members.

Characters that were created during or before the beta received an Indian Trading Post ticket once they played twenty matches.

[edit] Sound tracks

Full length versions of scenarios' sound tracks are available for the price of five gold coins each (this price is not eliminated by possession of a Gold Pass).
