Howdypedia:Speedy deletion policy

From Howdypedia, the Bang! Howdy wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

There are a few, limited cases where pages may be speedily deleted. Non-administrators can ask for an admin to delete such a page simply by adding a {{delete}} or {{d}} tag.

A list of pages to be deleted can be found at Category:Candidates for speedy deletion.

Instead of deleting a page, sometimes it makes more sense to either revert to an older version, or turn it into a redirect

When an administrator deletes an article, he or she should leave a notice (or warning, for vandalism or repeat offenses) on the talk page of the article's creator.

[edit] Candidates for speedy deletion

  1. Gibberish or patent nonsense (e.g. random characters).
  2. Test pages (e.g., "Can I really create a page here?").
  3. Pure vandalism.
  4. Pages that clearly belong on another wiki, or are otherwise irrelevant to Howdypedia
  5. Stubs that contain so little information as to be less useful than no page at all.
  6. Vanity pages (possibly move to user page)
  7. Reposted content that was already deleted according to policy.
  8. Temporarily deleting a page in order to move a page.
  9. Broken redirects or ones caused by typos during a page move.
  10. Duplicate images
  11. User talk pages of non-logged in users where the message is no longer relevant (This is to avoid confusing new users who happen to edit with that same IP address.)
  12. Empty categories
  13. User and talk pages on request of the user, where there is no significant abuse, and no administrative need to retain the page.
