Gold rush missions are pretty spawn-dependent, but you should never have to go in the back for Black Anise. Your dirigible and tactician are good nugget-runners, since they're immune to the (double) artillery fire. At the start, have the dirigible go for the middle nugget and the tactician (or iron-plated gunman) for the left nugget, while focusing the other units on getting the kills. Unless you're very, very unlucky, a third nugget will quickly spawn in front of the saloon and you should have your 3 nuggets around mid-game.

Now stop picking nuggets and leave them as bait for the enemy units: getting the required kills should be pretty easy as they will 'blindly' go for the nuggets.
