A board (or map) is the medium for all game play in Bang! Howdy, and is comprised of a grid set over terrain features and aesthetics. Game play occurs as players move their units over a board, earning points and completing objectives. In matches, a board is selected at random for each round. In tutorials, bounty missions, and practice sessions at the ranch, boards are set, and may be unique to a particular mission.

[edit] Grid

A grid is a composite of a number of squares (or tiles) on which units, objects, or terrain features can reside. Grids can vary in dimensions from one board to another, but are always rectangular, and oftern square, in overall shape.

[edit] Match boards

A random board, selected from a list of applicable boards, is the setting of every round. Each town has its own list of boards, though previous town's boards may be used for playing previous town's scenerios. Not all boards offer every scenario possible in a town. Some boards have multiple versions, so they can accommodate different numbers of players. Often these different versions are slightly dissimilar aesthetically, such as in lighting. Boards for all towns are as follows:

[edit] Other boards

Some boards exist specifically for use in bounty missions, tutorials, and practice sessions at the ranch. Boards such as these are not playable aside from their designated use. These boards are as follows:

[edit] Bang! Howdy Editor

Main article: Bang! Howdy Editor

The Bang! Howdy Editor is a tool that allows players to design their own boards. It is shipped with the rest of the game, in the main directory. In the future, players will have the ability to play against others on boards that they have created themselves.[1] Boards included with the game cannot be viewed with the editor.[2]
